Happy people deeply enjoy the sun.
Happy people admire the smallest flower in the meadow.
Happy people appreciate their friendships.
Happy people taste their cup of coffee like it’s the best one ever.
Happy people are grateful, just like that.
Happy people stand in the rain and get wet and that’s about it.
Happy people smile more.
Happy people care more.
Happy people get easily lost in joyful reflection.
So what do we do?
We try really hard to enjoy the sun, to admire the small flower, to force appreciation on our cup of coffee, to be grateful, to stand in the rain and not give a shit, and we try to smile more and try to care more, hoping at least one of those things will make us happy.
We somehow hope and believe that behaving like happy people, will bring us happiness.
But it works the other way around.
Happiness is not the result of any activity, any mindset, any habit.
It’s not a reward, and it’s not the end of the challenge.
It’s how and where it all begins.
