So I woke up this morning.

Eyes open.

Bit of rolling around, sitting up.

Legs out of the bed, waiting.

Watching feet.

Toes.

Wiggle.

Getting up.

Walking.

I went to the bathroom.

Petted the cats, fed them.

Made coffee.

Smelled coffee.

Some more petting.

Went back to bed, with coffee.

Looked outside the window.

Grey stuff in the sky.

Green stuff in the garden.

Drank hot coffee.

Did some reading.

Got out of bed, and stepped out on the balcony.

Looked around.

Cold railing.

Birds, neighbors, drilling, hammering.

I worked out.

Took a shower.

Got dressed.

Went out for some more coffee.

Came back.

Had a chat.

Had another chat.

A lot of words.

Ate a peach.

And two crackers.

So.

None of it really spectacular.

And yet, ALL of it very spectacular.

INCREDIBLY, mindblowingly spectacular.

I don’t get it, and never will.

But I’m living it.

All of it.

Breath.

Limbs.

Boredom.

Crumbs.

Sounds.

Colors.

Itches.

Yawns.

Cats.

Life.

The gift we forget about.
